M.A.T.E. stands for Mobile Auto Tech Expert. It is an Australian automotive intelligence company based in Bundaberg, Queensland and it is also the name of the intelligence itself: the thing that explains what is going on with a vehicle in plain English, works out which part actually fits it and is honest about how urgent a problem is. M.A.T.E. Track is that same intelligence, pointed at a working fleet.
The Connect plug
A plug-in unit that connects to the vehicle's OBD2 diagnostic port, the socket under the dash that every light vehicle has.
- What it reportsEverything the vehicle reports: location, trips, fault codes, battery voltage, possible collisions, fuel, odometer and engine hours.
- Fitting itPlug it in and M.A.T.E. starts learning the vehicle. Hardwired options are available on enquiry.
- One per vehicleM.A.T.E. Track runs on data from M.A.T.E. Connect plugs and does not currently connect to other telematics platforms.
- No guessworkIf the vehicle didn't report it, we don't guess it. A vehicle without a plug shows "Not reported" rather than an estimate.
- It keeps working out of rangeTrips and movements are recorded with no signal and catch up when the vehicle reconnects, so the history stays complete.
- What it fitsMost petrol vehicles built from 2006 and diesel vehicles from 2007 in Australia have the port it uses. Shipping is included, the plug is yours to keep and it is backed by Australian Consumer Law guarantees.
