Fit the plug
The M.A.T.E. Connect plug goes into the diagnostic port under the dash, the one almost every light vehicle has. No workshop booking and nothing for the driver to operate. Hardwired options are available on enquiry.

The vehicle reports itself
Location, trips, fault codes, battery voltage, possible collisions, fuel, odometer and engine hours arrive on their own. Each vehicle's plug reports to the platform.

What does the plug actually do?
The M.A.T.E. Connect plug goes into the diagnostic port under the dash, called OBD2 and reports what the vehicle reports: location, trips, fault codes, battery voltage, possible collisions, fuel, odometer and engine hours. A fault code is a warning code the vehicle stores when something is wrong and M.A.T.E. translates it into plain English.
Does every vehicle need one?
Yes. M.A.T.E. Track runs on data from M.A.T.E. Connect plugs and odometer readings and service timing are only ever learned from the vehicle. A vehicle without a plug shows "Not reported" rather than a guess. Hardwired options are available on enquiry.
Can I connect the telematics I already have?
Not at the moment. M.A.T.E. Track runs on our own plug, so every number on the screen comes from the same place. Connecting other platforms is something we may look at as the platform grows.
Will it work where there is no signal?
Yes. The plug keeps recording trips and movements with no signal and catches up when it reconnects, so the history is complete. Alerts from a vehicle in a black spot arrive once it is back in range.
Will it work on my vehicles?
Most petrol vehicles built from 2006 and diesel vehicles from 2007 in Australia have the OBD2 port the plug uses. M.A.T.E. Track covers light vehicles, from cars up to light trucks. For heavy vehicles, stick with a heavy-vehicle specialist. Older vehicle? Talk to us and we will check it during scoping.
How many logins do I get?
As many as you need. Users are unlimited and every login includes access to M.A.T.E. AI, so everyone who needs a login gets one, including your accountant, at no extra cost. You pay per vehicle, not per seat.
Where is our data kept?
On secure Australian servers, separated by account and by role.
Who can see where a vehicle is?
The people you give access to and no one else. Five access levels run from Owner down to a read-only Accountant view and a Manager only sees the groups and vehicles that apply to them. Driving behaviour is scored against the vehicle, never against a named driver.
Do you handle the fuel tax credit claim?
No. M.A.T.E. Track prepares the records and the evidence, reconciling classified routes with confirmed fuel purchases and approved date-specific rates, then exports them. M.A.T.E. Track provides records, not tax advice. Talk to your accountant.
What does it cost and am I locked in?
$44 per vehicle per month including GST, plus $119 per plug once. Minimum two vehicles, no upper limit and an ABN is required. Monthly plans have no lock-in and can be cancelled anytime. See pricing.
